Add Itunes Library To Sonos

Add itunes library to sonos app
Itunes

Basically a hardware device that can go through a network to find and play music files in an iTunes library. Sonos player can do this, but they do not have any control features. I need to design a system for a cutover that as soon as they add an audio file in iTunes by any method, it is available to be played for a player that is controllable. Find out where your playlist files are stored, then add that music folder to your library so Sonos can index the right files. Check the playlist's file format Sonos can import playlists from the Music app on macOS as well as the iTunes app on macOS and Windows by reading the app's music library XML file.

Sonos
Recently I bought into the Sonos universe (Beam for kitchen TV and now two Ones for living room) and will most likely add more to the house later. All fine and dandy for listening to Spotify, Internet radio, itunes library etc.
However, I am now considering it would be nice to add a CD player once again to listen to the neglected CDs which I didn't rip for the car/commute. And lockdown has reminded me that sometimes it is just nice to just listen to music (and browse the artwork/booklet). Not looking to get back to vinyl (yet!)
Obvious solution is to get a decent reasonably priced cd/amp/speaker set up for the lounge. However as I already have the Sonos Ones, I (or is that the wife) would rather avoid another pair of speakers and it would be also nice to be able to send the music to elsewhere
So my question (and its a bit of a newbie one): Is the Sonos Port the only viable solution to connect a reasonably decent CD player into the Sonos system?
Any suggestions? Also, any suggestions for a decent CD player (budget to £300)

Controllable Sonos style iTunes media player

Add Itunes Library To Sonos Iphone

Is there a Sonos style player out there that can play iTunes music files that is RS-232 or IP controllable? All I need is to be able to play audio files in one zone or area of a building.
Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'Sonos style' but the Autonomic MMS-2
sounds about right.

I am a little wary of the AppleTV route incase of a firmware update that kills the control functionality. If I need their MMS-2 box to make this work reliably, then that's fine.

Will the MMS-2 see the new content 'as soon as they add an audio file in iTunes by any method?' Or do you have to tell the MMS-2 to re-index the library before it will see the new content?
Just as an FYI, you have to re-index the library on the Sonos before it will see the new content as well. This can be triggered manually through the Sonos interface, or can be setup to happen on a fixed schedule.

Autonomic is the best bet and my preferred player as it's self contained.
If you have a PC or Mac that is always on and managing the iTunes, you could use any of the Logitech Squeezeboxes in their varied flavors, it just requires that you have the Squeezebox server running either on a dedicated rig, or a NAS.

Autonomic has a client program called 'Mirage Media Sync' that you would run on the PC's or Mac's that house the iTunes libraries that you would load music into.
(PS forgot to mention in my earlier post that Autonomic supports multiple iTunes music libraries, a rarely used but very cool feature)
I find that a single song updates within a few minutes at worst, and if you're importing a huge amount of data/songs it can take a little while, but it will do it without any outside intervention.

The squeezebox, plus the controlworks module works faily well. You will need either a dedicated PC, or a ReadyNAS as the squeezecenter talking to the crestron, and the ReadyNAS in turn connects with the squeezebox. A little clunky sometimes, but tons of potential for a power user. A Request would work as well, they have actually turned a new leaf recently, and I actually think they are doing it right now.
